VP of Operations /Chief Operations Officer

High Level Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a manufacturing facility that is tasked with minting a number of exclusive products; this facility produces millions of ounces of precious metals per year with a team that will approach 40 individuals
  • Lead a B2C fulfillment operation that ships 600-700K packages a year across 20K SKU’s with FTE count in excess of 70 people
  • Oversee value added services mainly to include enhanced packaging and labeling for select products
  • Standard scope of oversight within a traditional distribution center including:  inventory integrity within the operation including cycle counts and quarterly inventories, process optimization for accuracy and efficiency, employee safety, and labor productivity
  • Point for logistics partnerships (UPS/USPS) including efforts to manage cost, improve service levels, and minimize lost product
  • Manufacturing is undergoing a multi-million dollar investment, which will be led by this role; additionally, new processes will need to be implemented to address quality, productivity, and safety
  • Provide leadership of our onsite security and facility teams
  • Direct reports consist of a Director of Operations, Director of Manufacturing, Security Manager, and Facilities Manager

 

 

Experience Requirements:

  • 15+ years of overall work experience with 8+ years leading a team
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally focused on implementation of processes to improve overall throughput, quality, and productivity
  • Working knowledge of 6 Sigma, Lean, Process Documentation, ISO Certification and how to make quality principles a part of the daily process
  • Managed a team of 75 or more employees that is focused on continuous improvement, retention and development of talent, and an overall positive, team first culture
  • Ideally the individual has some B2C experience, specifically related to a fulfillment operation with volumes exceeding 500K packages a year and freight spend north of $4M per year
  • Ideally has represented supply chain on a strategic leadership team, being exposed to all aspects of an eCommerce operation
  • A working knowledge of logistics to ideally include acting as a strategic point person of company, contract negotiations, carrier performance, claims, etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge (WMS, TMS, LMS, MRP, API’s)
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to direct as well as perform in-depth analysis
  • Performed annual budgeting process for all of Manufacturing/Operations
  • Ability to work hands on one minute and be strategic the next
  • Familiarity with on-site security, especially as it relates to high value products and inventory

  • Worked in a private company with a hands-on type culture that is fast paced and highly driven for excellence
  • Experience in eCommerce as a significant portion of a company’s revenue (>25%)
  • Diverse background that is not limited to supply chain
  • Been involved in a high growth business

  • Ability to develop all types of talent and build out bench strength in an organization
  • Success working cross functionally and thought of as a true partner by the senior leaders; ability to build a high level of trust with senior leaders
  • An individual that does not shy away from internal or external conflict
  • The ability to be open, honest and when necessary ask the tough questions about strategy and tactics in order to make the company and team stronger
  • Understands the importance of culture and being true to core values of an organization
