VP of IT Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly-skilled VP of IT to join our innovative technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire Information Technology department and ensuring that our company’s technology systems are reliable, up-to-date, and meet the needs of the company. You will also work closely with the other members of the senior leadership team to develop technology policies to be administered throughout the company as well as the strategic vision. We prefer candidates who have at least ten years of IT experience, with five in a supervisory role. This position can be remote with some travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire IT department, including infrastructure and applications
    • Build and oversee the Helpdesk team
    • Oversee the EMR Application support team
    • Oversee the development of internal processes and workflows
    • Manage outside vendors and contract resources who are critical to the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
  • Oversee and Manage all technical aspects of athenaPractice EMR
  • Help to prioritize short and long term objectives
  • Maintain existing programs, seeing that necessary updates are made
  • Oversee maintenance of hardware
  • Stay up to date on security risks and ensure corporate security
  • Report progress and challenges to senior management
  • See that all reported issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
  • Work with Senior Leadership to develop and execute on the IT strategy

IT Director Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the technology field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role in an IT setting
  • Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing a team with KPI’s
  • Preferred prior experience managing a remote workforce
