Sr. Analyst/Associate of M&A and Strategy

Key Responsibilities

The Sr. Analyst/Associate of M&A and Strategy will report to the Director of Strategy, will work closely with the VP of Strategy and other key members of the team, and will be deeply involved in the M&A process and other strategic initiatives. This role is new – it will be dynamic, and some elements might not fit into a job description. But here are some of the particulars:

  • Pre-Letter of Intent (LOI) work –With varying degrees of data robustness and complexity, perform preliminary internal due diligence. Consider implications on deal structure. Assist in preparing internal management presentations for review.
  • Due diligence – Lead and / or contribute to due diligence process. Manage multiple due diligence workstreams.
  • Interface with external advisors, track and facilitate progress
  • Process enhancement – Take leading role in helping to update, refine, optimize, or create playbooks, processes, trackers, etc., in order to facilitate the Strategy team’s ability to operate more nimbly, efficiently, and expeditiously.
  • Integration – Assist in integration planning and integration execution, including liaising across departments and assisting in developing an integration playbook.
  • Ad hoc –Take lead with or assist in other projects, consistent with our strategic objectives.

Background / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 2-5 years in team-based, high-stakes position – preferably investment banking or private equity, but also open to M&A advisory, consulting, or corporate development / corporate strategy
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of project management, and the M&A process
  • Self-starter – willingness / ability to think outside the box
  • Willing to work on a Central or Eastern time schedule
  • Ability to travel as needed (likely 10% of working days or less)

Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 plus 10-20% bonus.

Remote or hybrid in Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, or Dallas.
