Champion and own the given day-to-day accounting duties and month-end close processes
Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.
Perform account reconciliations in a timely manner.
Assist with the preparation of required journal entries to complete the monthly close process in accordance with GAAP and the accrual basis of accounting, including but not limited to commission and tax accruals, bad debt, bonus accruals and various allocations
Perform P&L analysis providing explanation for variances against budgets and prior periods
Build and maintain relationships with divisional and branch leaders, being a “go-to” person for field inquiries
Assist Management with standardizing processes and establishing a sound internal control framework over our accounting processes.
Ensure proper recognition and recording of all revenue and expenses
Review Accounts Payable transactions throughout the month, in conjunction with the preparation of month-end responsibilities such as cash, prepaids, accruals, benefits, etc
Assist the Accounting Manager with the generation, review and presentation of all month-end financials to management and external parties
Assist with interim and year-end financial, bank, tax audits
Perform other accounting duties and provide support to team members as well as others in different departments
Assists with other special projects, implementation of a new ERP system and mapping and testing of system integrations, etc
Education / Experience
BS degree in Accounting/Finance
CPA or other accounting certification highly preferred
3+ years of Accounting/Finance experience
Strong computer and software application skills including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.) is required
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, analytical skills, financial concepts and processes
Ability to learn multiple systems and various data outputs, consolidating information into meaningful analysis helping to drive both financial and operational decisions
Self-starter who holds themselves accountabl
and dedicated to contributing to the growth and success of the company
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead by example.
Experience in implementing/modifying policies and procedures with systems to achieve greater efficiencies in accounting operations
Must be comfortable working in a complex environment and possess the Excel skills required to complete related reconciliations
