Responsibilities
- Determine the overall quality and continuous improvement strategy for the company's objectives
- Build strong quality systems for determining the appropriate infrastructure and resources required to achieve business objectives
- Ensures internal processes and metrics are aligned to create highest product quality and competitive advantage
- Provide leadership throughout the phase gate process
- Provide guidance to ensure proper interface of the quality/CI function to manufacturing, engineering, and marketing
- Foster strong relationships with customers and vendors
- Act as the lead for ISO requirements and ensure they are followed
- Implement and maintain the necessary programs to support the Corporate Quality Policy, the Quality System, and the CI initiatives
- Coordinate investigations of internal and external customer quality issues
- Organize the quality engineering department, approving plans and expenditures necessary to achieve objectives
- Support supplier quality programs; conduct supplier audits as needed to meet objectives
- Drive efforts to reduce CONC (cost of non-conformance) and other key metrics
- Utilize appropriate lean tools and champion general continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall business performance
- Coordinate the plant's Six Sigma initiatives
- Partners with key players within the organization to create and direct programs to ensure the quality of the product
- Lead creation and implementation of tactical plans
- Consistently exceed customer expectations for product delivery and quality
- Provide training and leadership and represent a positive and enthusiastic role model to ensure high engagement across the team
- Participate in identifying transaction opportunities and related due diligence, negotiation and post-acquisition integration
- Coach team leaders on leadership development and assists in creating development and training plans
- Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business, engineering, or a related technical field
- A master's degree in a related field is preferred
- Minimum five years of quality management experience, which includes experience in Quality Systems
- Experience with quality assurance (QA) administration, QA engineering, QA audit
- Inspection and test experience within manufacturing
- Original equipment manufacturer experience is a plus
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Demonstrated successful performance in business planning, marketing and sales in a high growth environment
- Demonstrated successful leadership in new product planning and development
- Strong collaborative work ethic and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and vendors
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and a high tolerance for ambiguity
