Our North side client is seeking a heavy senior wanting to become a manager of someone who is currently in a manager role to be their SEC Reporting Manager
Reporting to the Director, this person is responsible for supporting preparation of external financial statements and compliance reporting. This role will require interaction with external auditors on technical accounting, reporting, and accounting policies. In addition, the role supports compliance with internal controls over the external financial reporting process. The candidate must remain current on new GAAP pronouncements and SEC regulations as they are released and support assessment of the impact to the Company, including drafting of technical memos.
Essential Duties
- Support preparation and review of SEC filings for the parent company and an MLP including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K, Form 11-K
- Prepare or review monthly financial statements for the parent company and an MLP including consolidated statements of cash flow
- Prepare or review earnings release financial support
- Prepare or review financial reporting calculations, such as earnings per share/unit
- Prepare or review guarantor financial statement disclosures
- Provide technical accounting support, including monitoring of new accounting standards and reporting guidance, technical research, and documentation memos
- Collaborate with internal customers on complex technical accounting matters and develop the company’s position on judgmental accounting topics
- Perform or review XBRL tagging for SEC filings
- Prepare or review journal entries for consolidation/reporting adjustments
- Support the internal and external audit processes, including prepare support schedules and variance analyses, and coordinate external audit requests
- Lead reporting process improvement projects
- Prepare or review Census filing information
- Ad-hoc research, reporting and analysis as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Seven or more years of related work experience, including supervisory experience
- Experience preparing and/or reviewing form 10-K and 10-Q required
- Bachelor or Master of Accounting degree required
- Active CPA license preferred
- Experience with Big 4 accounting firm preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP required
- Workiva experience required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to efficiently manipulate data using Excel
