Title: Sales Engineer Emerging Markets Reports to: President Location: Midwest (ideally within 3 hour drive of Cleveland, OH) Client Industry: Tier 1 Manufacturing Client Job ID: 1580219 MARKET FOCUS: Engineered Materials selling into Tier 1 Manufacturing for Emerging Markets PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBLITY:

  • Sales Engineer is a business development role, growing revenue within new and existing businesses/markets. It focuses on delivering growth and measured on results.
  1. Tactical Sales Management- meeting or exceeding budgeted sales/profit 
  2. Application Development Management- seeking-out and exploring new opportunities
JOB DUTIES- Sales Management Responsibilities
  • Achieve budgeted sales by driving sales and being responsive to potential revenue shortfalls 
  • Being attuned to competitive intelligence re: technology, customers, new applications, strategies
  • Manage 3rd party sales channels, distributors, sales agents and strategic partners
  • Develop pipeline of "valuable" opportunities to grow Company's business and follow-up on qualified leads and customer product samples
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Marketing, Application Engineers and R&D to develop new products and product applications
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on price, product development and promotions to maximize bottom line profitability
  • Manage Company's CRM system, to ensure products cost/price in pipeline, determining current and future commercialization value 
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers inside/outside geographical area, identifying global customer opportunities, market, application opportunities and potential customers who buy its products indirectly
  • Seek-out opportunities with current customers, expanding existing applications, leading to new opportunities that are more cost effective and profitable

  • Effective at working with Engineering and Supply Chain
  • Curiosity and inquisitiveness- seeks-out and discovers new business opportunities
  • BS- Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science PREFERRED
  • 8+ years selling engineered solutions into tier 1 manufacturing, particularly emerging markets and automotive
