Our client, an Arlington-area law firm, is seeking an associate with 1-3 years of experience to handle both litigation, court and general matters for the Community Association practice area. The Community Association practice is a group of over 30 attorneys and legal professionals who represent more than 800 condominiums across the D.C., Virginia, Maryland and Delaware areas. Responsibilities include:
- Providing legal advice to Community Association clientele on a range of matters including revision of documents on governing rules among a condominium, board operations and the human dynamics of what is permitted in a community association environment
- Provide representation in court during the litigation process, or alternative dispute resolution where appropriate among homeowners, developers, contractors, government entities, and financial institutions
- Provide practical, responsive and cost effective legal advice seeking help regarding delinquent collections, employment law, fair housing law, environmental law, construction law, and additional legal disciplines related to Community Association matters within a condominium environment
- Assist with legal matters and litigation advice related to litigation claims regarding breach of contract, wrongful termination, rule violation and defective work claims.
The associate must be admitted to practice in Virginia and admission to D.C. or Maryland Bar is preferred. Must be a team player and have a strong enthusiasm for courtroom exposure.
