Our client is a fast growing medical software company with a unique platform that allows healthcare providers to operate at an optimal level to ensure their patients have excellent care at the best possible price. As a result of this tremendous growth, they are looking to bring a Principal Data Scientist on to their team to help them grow even more. The Principal Data Scientist will be primarily responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing statistical models and creating other analytical solutions using the latest statistical and data science techniques for business problems across the organization. The idea person for this job will translate business problems into solutions and be able to effectively communicate any data issues to the business.  Duties and Qualifications

  • Develop and maintain predictive models
  • Investigate data quality
  • Explore feature selection and model tuning for improved performance
  • Collect performance data and monitor model assessment
  • Drive data understanding to ensure the alignment of data science to business goals
  • Work with Product Team to align on data meaning and industry practices and terminology
  • Work with Data Platform Team to ensure concept and semantic integrity across data layers
  • Manage Data Governance Framework Research
  • Research and implement new machine learning methods to improve risk management products
  • Support BI and analytics across departments
  • Work to provide self-serve reports, dashboards, and information on predictive models and customer performance
  • Advance machine learning strategy and road map planning working across the modeling community
  • Work closely with the heads of various departments
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of data scientists, helping to enhance their skills, while creating a fun and engaging culture that helps them prosper.
  • Champion Data Understanding and a culture of Data Science throughout the company
  • Inform data analysis best practices across various teams
  • Ability to understand data mining algorithms and machine learning
  • Strong knowledge in the following fields: machine learning,data visualization, statistical modeling, data mining, natural language processing or information retrieval
  • Strong experience with data preparation and processing (SQL), assessment of data quality, and all facets of model building, tuning, and assessment
  • Strong proficiency in R or related statistical language and demonstrated experience with programming languages
  • Strong experience in adaptive learning, model health checks and model maintenance
  • Strong experience in one of the cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Strong understanding of visualization techniques and tools,with an emphasis on understanding the right expression for specific needs
  • Able to communicate findings and solutions clearly to a variety of audiences

Educational Requirements
  • 7+ years of professional experience working as a Data Scientist in machine learning and natural language processing
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Physics, or related fields with a strong mathematical background
  • Graduate level education in related field
  • PhD in Statistics preferred but not required
