Manager, IT Portfolio Delivery (Closed)

Lucas Group has partnered with an organization in a rapidly growing industry who is building out a project delivery team.  We are helping them find a Manager of IT Portfolio Delivery on a direct-hire basis. Key responsibilities:

  • Manages cross-functional project activities for delivering technology solutions
  • Responsible for management of a project methodology incorporating technical structures, standards, processes, documentation and reporting that meets the needs of the IT
  • Utilizes metrics to show progress, results and impact
  • Enable the large-scale planning process by creating necessary artifacts
  • Represent business analysis and project management in Centers of Excellence and Communities of Practice
  • Foster a culture of partnership and open communication with Business partners, IT leaders, and teams to ensure the successful on time delivery and operational readiness of business solutions
  • Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
  • Work closely with business leaders to ensure initiatives align with overall business strategy and are properly funded, resourced and managed
  • Support the gathering of business requirements for initiatives within the assigned value stream
  • Assess change readiness and prepare plans to assist stakeholders through change
  • Ability to coach, mentor, manage, and provide clear direction to resources and stakeholders
  • Support the implementation of risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and stakeholder communication
  • Enable rapid resolution or escalation of issues, blockers, and hindrances using company best practices
  • Assure the management and control of scope and change within the assigned value stream
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of project management and service delivery best practices, processes, and tools in collaboration with the COE
  • Responsible for reporting out to stakeholders on the assigned portfolio including overall timelines, budgets, risks and overall status
  • Responsible for resource estimation and optimization, hiring, training, coaching, completing performance appraisals and disciplinary actions
Key requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required 
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience related to the responsibilities of this position is required
  • Experience providing work direction to others as a technical expert is required
  • Experience with systems design, development, deployment and operational support is required
  • Demonstrated change management and continuous improvement leadership is preferred
  • Familiarity of the healthcare payer industry and knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of agile and project management processes, techniques and tools, development lifecycle
  • Strong planning, negotiating and influencing skillset
  • Flexibility in leading technical solutions innovation and organizational change
  • Demonstrated excellence in analysis and collaboration skills
  • Hands on proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Project, Visio, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Project Management Certification and/or Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred
