In-House Counsel, Dallas, TX
A multi-billion dollar, international aerospace manufacturing company is seeking to hire an experienced government contracts counsel. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, dynamic legal team. This position will report directly to the General Counsel and will advise the “Defense” line of the business that partners with the U.S. Department of Defense. - Assist in in implementing appropriate compliance procedures and binding supplier obligations.
- Advise executives and Defense department heads on all appropriate requirements relating to government contracts.
- Act as a problem solver, providing pragmatic guidance while appropriately balancing the competing interests of facilitating business, protecting assets and limiting liability.
- Ensure clear bid terms and negotiations; understanding of terms; risk assessment; deliverables and technical documents; protection of company technology.
Travel up to 25% of the time is anticipated for this role.
JD and excellent academics
Licensed to practice law, preferably in the State of Texas
5 years of experience negotiating and drafting contracts including significant experience with government contracts
Experience working in the DFAR, FAR regulatory space preferred
