 Below are some of the duties of this position:

  • Must process strong background in process instrumentation systems and PLC systems
  • Troubleshoots area instrument and electrical systems equipment issues
  • Tracks, manages, and analyzes area instrument and electrical systems
  • Conducts Bad Actor analysis
  • Manages instrument and electrical systems shutdown planning & execution
  • Trains & improves maintenance work processes & SOPs
  • Identifies and scopes and manages potential instrument and electrical systems improvement projects
  • Manages and update instrument and electrical equipment lists, and documents in SAP, DMS, etc
  • Coordinates external support for instrument and electrical maintenance troubleshooting
  • Develops and updates PM, PdM, and CBM routines
  • Develops Maintenance & Operations Training for new instrument and electrical equipment
  • Identifies and manages critical instrument and electrical spares and inventory levels
  • Assists with emergencies

Required Skills
  • Performs Equipment Availability/Failure Analysis
  • Supports  instrument and electrical shops when supervisor is away
  • Supports & facilitates RCAs
  • Supports the training of site personnel
  • Participates on Management of Change (MOCs) process
  • Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR
  • Conducts Commissioning and Startup Activities
  • Supports Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Req's
  • Redlines Engineering Drawings and Documents
  • Manages and catalogs engineering documents and drawings
  • Manage process information and updates for P&ID, MOC, Interlock Sched, etc.

Required Experience
  • BS degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering Technology or equivalent background 
  • 5+ years engineering experience in a petro-chemical manufacturing plant or other heavy industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of process control instrumentation
  • Experience with PLC and Distributed Control Systems
  • Experience with motors, motor control, and medium voltage electrical distribution systems
