Lucas Group has partnered with a global leader in logistics/distribution on their search for an HR Manager in Los Angeles. This person will own HR for a unionized site of about 200 - 250 employees. Will act as a true HR Business Partner to the General Manager and Head of Operations. Must be a business leader first and then versed in all aspects of HR. Will be involved in developing, implementing and driving progressive programs designed to build a rewarding and challenging work environment. Corporate is back east but you are the top HR seat for this location.
BA Degree or equivalent professional people management and leadership experience
7 years HR in a blue collar environment with some union experience
Experience working with teams in service/production/blue collar environments
Experience with unionized workforce
Experience managing complex employee and labor relations
Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines - pay and benefits, performance and behavior management, ability to motivate, train and guide, HRIS administration, timekeeping/payroll, benefits administration, employee safety, LOA
Experience identifying, understanding, and developing constructive resolutions to complex issues or concerns in service and production-based organizations
Must be an effective listener but able to be tough and keep things in line.
