Electrician (Level II or III)---Waxahachie, TX (Closed)

* This company is specifically seeking candidates with military experience. *  

This is a night shift opportunity (7:30 -0730); rotating. 4 days one week and 3 days the next; not consecutive.

The schedule is 2 ON, 2 OFF, 3 ON and 2 OFF then 2 ON and 3 OFF. You should get 2 X 3 day weekends per month.

You will end up working ½ the month with the days off in this schedule. There is some OT and weekend work required. Shifts are 12 hours. Waxahachie, TX is S. Dallas by 30 miles. Rural but close to Big D.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Electronics Technology
  • Any prior experience with thermoforming or extrusion would be highly preferred.

Day to Day Role:

  • Utilize electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges
  • Perform basic analog and digital circuit design by utilizing microprocessor hardware and software configurations
  • Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including basic and ladder logic to read/write basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints in order to diagnosis problems
  • Draw electrical schematics and update schematic drawings to incorporate changes in equipment as needed
  • Understand precedence relationships (e.g. sequence of events)
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformer, motors, and light fixtures.  Replaces damages or broken components
  • Diagnose and repair complex machine and electrical and electronic problems including non-routine electrical issues such as power quality
  • Assemble component electrical parts per specifications and bench testing before installation
  • Plan layout of wiring and install conduit, wiring and ancillary electrical equipment
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit and troubleshoot
  • issues as they arise

Core Skills and Responsibilities:

Electrician II candidates must possess all of the following:

Five (5) years of experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or comparable experience with trade school or training
  • Ability to read/write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints and analytical diagnosis of problems
  • Ability to program Programmable Logic Controllers using basic and ladder logic
  • Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges 
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Must have an understanding of microprocessor hardware and software configurations and be able to perform basic analog and digital circuit design

Electrician III candidates must possess all of the following:

Seven (7) years of experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or comparable experience with trade school or training
  • Ability to read/write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints and analytical diagnosis of problems
  • Understanding of electrical laws and principals (KVL, Ohm's Law, Power Law, etc.)
  • Ability to program Programmable Logic Controllers using basic and ladder logic
  • Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges 
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Must have an understanding of microprocessor hardware and software configurations and be able to perform basic analog and digital circuit design
