The Division Controller will function as a business partner with company and financial management to effectively manage and control the South Carolina business. This position reports to the corporate Chief Financial Officer, as well as the division President, and leads the division finance and accounting team. The position’s areas of responsibility include general accounting and financial reporting, business analytics, cost accounting, accounts payable, billing, and maintenance of bills of material across three facilities. Position interacts with corporate financial staff, as required. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce periodic financial statements, ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Maintain documented accounting policies and procedures, and implement an effective system of controls over accounting and financial transactions to minimize risk.
  • Produce annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Support preparation and maintenance of long-term financial forecasts.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of cost dynamics, behaviors and drivers for each facility.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to project the financial impact of potential business changes.
  • Collaborate with operating team to drive operating improvements and reduce costs
  • Provide necessary reporting to state and local taxing authorities
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of bill of material and price code changes.
  • Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
  • Reconcile all inter-company accounts monthly.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • 5-10 years as Controller over multiple manufacturing facilities in: Managing Processes, Financial Software, Developing Standards, Audit, Accounting, Tracking Budget Expenses, Financial Skills, Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Performance Management
  • Experience with integrated accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Ross)
