Lucas Group Human Resources is retained with a well-known real estate firm in their search for a Director of Human Resources in Los Angeles, California. This is an excellent opportunity for a resourceful individual to lead and support HR divisions while driving strategic initiatives and tactical growth projects. The ideal candidate will utilize creativity and effective communication to champion company values and employee engagement throughout the organization

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Leads, guides, and inspires regarding HR operations such as creation of employee handbooks, training programs, onboarding, exit interviews and termination papers
  • Knowledge, reporting, and management of programs and compliance regarding Human Resource regulations, Disability, Unemployment , Workman’s compensation, Workplace Safety and accomodations, emergency communication systems, and Leaves of Absence
  • Monitors trends and analyze areas for growth and executes key actions to improve policies and procedures for maximum efficiency
  • Partner with recruiting and business leaders to effectively utilize metrics and data to communicate strategic recommendations and best practices
  • Collaborate with legal and all levels of the organization to utilize data from digital platforms to oversee all aspects of HR operations including maintaining records for all employee actions
  • Use effective communication throughout the organization to send announcements and provide leadership for various aspects of talent acquisition and employee relations.
  • Manage conflict scenarios by collecting data and working with employees to understand the situation and determine reasonable and appropriate resolutions.
  • Build trust, participare in merger and acquisitions, and leverage meaningful relationships to create and implement company wide effective HR policies and procedures
  • Provides mentoring for leadership to drive positive employee engagement and improvement by focusing on best practices and maintaining appropriate documentation, interventions, and procedures for engagement programs, performance reviews, and termination
  • Manage and evaluate benefits vendors for options, cost effectiveness, Total Rewards initiatives,and conduct Negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with all HR local, state, and federal laws




Educational & Work Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, business, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience as an HR generalist with both investigative and compliance specific experience
  • Bli-lingual in Spanish preferred; both written and verbal with ability to translate messages
  • Experience with recordkeeping, metrics, and M&A on the global level
  • Attention to detail and ability to work professionally with all levels of the organization using strong Communication and problem solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills particularly in applications of Microsoft excel
  • Knowledge of employment laws at the local, state, and federal levels; particularly California employment laws and
  • Succeed in pressure, employee relations, and collaborative environments
  • Movement between locations and travel required
