The Controls Engineer will develop, create and enhance processes and equipment used for optical fiber fabrication. This individual will also optimize existing methods and form new fabrication and measurement processes. They will be critical cogs in identifying new technology that can integrate with existing equipment.

Job Location: Carrollton, GA (relocation assistance provided for non-local candidates)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine guarding including safety relays and/or safety PLC's and programming
  • Programming experience in Allen Bradley or Siemens
  • Must have programmed 100+ I/O
  • Start up and commissioning of new equipment
  • Proficiency in programming industrial equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of 2 years on-the-job experience in a directly related position
  • PLC/HMI programming and LabVIEW experience
  • Experience in assembling and interfacing with remote hardware such as motors and I/O signals
  • Self-starter willing to learn new skills rapidly
  • Passion for troubleshooting and developing/building new processes
  • Software skills such as Java, Python, C, C#, SQL, or VB
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
