Our client is a non-profit, member-owned mutual association established in 1879 to provide affordable life insurance and peace of mind to members of the military and their families.
 
Qualifications/Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Communications with at least 5 years of Marketing Communications experience, knowledge of financial services preferred
  • Have 6 months plus of technical experience in using Content Management Systems (CMS) to publish content online; content marketing experience in writing frequent blog posts, articles, checklist, case studies, eBooks, whitepapers, infographics, and more
  • Knowledge of military and government benefits preferred
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication, editing and proofreading skills, along with knowledge of desktop publishing programs and website management
  • Proficient with MS Office tools including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and Google Ads, Wordpress or other website CMS experience, Salesforce, Pardot, Google Drive or other collaboration tools, a definite plus
  • The idea candidate will have strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce written content aligning our audience challenges with solutions; have proven ability to balance multiple projects and successfully meet deadlines; strong analytical and organizational abilities, detail-oriented with critical reasoning skills
  • The idea candidate will demonstrate an elevated level of professionalism, is inspired by learning, a team player, thrives in a fast-paced environment, while delivering exceptional work quality; ability to communicate professionally and courteously
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • The primary role for this position is to create and edit marketing and communications content online and in print; content is a very important part of our business. With more channels of communication, the ability to understand the differences between each and how and when to engage each of them for maximum impact, whether it’s print, social media, web or video is highly critical in this role. This position will help execute a strategy that fills the content needs of our client. The ability to understand the bigger picture and how developed content can be utilized throughout multiple platforms and channels is important
  • Create and edit marketing and communications content (website copy, blog posts, emails, direct mail, newsletters, reports and social post)
  • Write internal and external marketing communications
  • Produce and maintain an editorial calendar around topics/themes relevant to the insurance industry and military community
  • Research and write short and long form content such as blog posts, articles, eBooks, case studies, white papers, and infographics
  • Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and methods to track Return on Investment (ROI) for all channels
  • Read a variety of articles and papers and synthesize the content to succinct and readable bytes to communicate to both Members and management, as needed
  • Develop and maintain editorial governance so content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone
  • Obtain feedback from the sales and third-party industry insiders to ensure proper messaging to various channels
  • Prepare presentations on program approaches to senior management
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and across departments to ensure consistency across initiatives
  • Research industry relevant content; stay abreast of changes in the multi-media marketing environment to best serve the objectives of the organization and recommend strategic plan adjustments accordingly
