Role Title: Collections Manager

Location:  Near Downtown Houston

Role Responsibilities:

  • This position will oversee the Financial Collection Department’s outstanding receivables and ensure customers make timely payments towards outstanding loans
  • The role with report to and interact with local leadership, as well as the company’s executive team
  • The Collections Manager will supervise a large local team and be responsible for their overall performance and development
  • Research, develop, and implement collection procedures that reduce the amount of delinquencies
  • On a routine basis, regularly report the department’s progress and statistics to executive leadership
  • Identify and highlight trends or special achievements on behalf of the team and also recognize outstanding individual performance
  • Observe or review employee interactions with customers to ensure all policies and regulations are being adhered to by the staff

Role Requirements:

  • A BA or BBA degree is preferred
  • At least 7 or more years of credit and collections experience is required
  • At least 5 or more years of team leadership experience is highly preferred
  • Experience working in a high volume collections department that also handles credit authorization and billing procedures is preferred
  • Collections experience working in automotive finance, consumer lending, or retail financing environments is also preferred
  • In addition to being a team player and developing the lower level staff, this position requires a high level of attention to details and excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in computer software programs, such as MS Word, Excel, Access and other database systems is required
  • Advanced mathematical skills are a must
  • Knowledge of state and federal collection laws 
  • Bilingual Spanish and English communication skills are a major plus
  • Some relocation assistance will be provided for a qualified candidate
