Business Development Consultant
The Business Development Consultant is responsible for new business development and account management for customers in their assigned territory. This includes cold calling and prospecting, responding to customer’s hiring needs, properly qualifying prospects, applying a solution selling methodology to the business development cycle, promptly and accurately completing proposals and sales activities, closing new customers quickly and efficiently, and completing necessary paperwork and implementation steps to successfully fill client’s staffing need. This also includes managing the ongoing customer relationship with customers.
Services existing accounts, obtains job orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential buyers.
Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of position and industry to apply during discovery appointments.
Qualifies customers and follows sales procedures which include the following: Preparing rate agreements, reviewing rates and gross margin with manager to check for accuracy and approval, submit credit request for credit limit from upper management, request workers comp code, conduct safety walkthroughs and review OSHA logs. All related account information should be documented in system. Signed rate agreements and related documents should be uploaded to customer profile prior to placement.
Takes accurate job descriptions to understand company culture and requirements before transferring information to recruiting team. Create job order in system with job details, pay rate, mark-up and contact information. Conduct ongoing follow-up with customer and recruiter during placement process to ensure customer satisfaction.
Maintain ongoing customer service and account management through follow-up, development of reoccurring business opportunities, and solicitation of referrals. Solicit feedback at follow-up to ensure client is providing the highest possible level of service to our clients.
Keeps management informed by submitting activity and sales reports, such as weekly call reports, appointments and territory discovery.
Recommends changes in service by evaluating employee feedback, placement results and competitive developments.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional events to represent company
Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information and pricing during cold calls
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required. Sales experience in a service-related industry is required. Staffing industry background is desired.
