Lucas Group has partnered with our client, a manufacturer of high-end windows and doors, on their search for a 1^st Shift Production Supervisor in Laurel MD.  For over 30 years, the company has been family-owned and -operated, with a well-earned position as an industry forerunner in the mid-Atlantic region.  All their products are manufactured in-house in MD before shipping to their distribution centers, measure and installation facilities.

What You Will Do:

• Maintain and develop the production workflow by monitoring and improving all parts of the production process
• Complete production schedule on time and in correct order; establish and enforce quality standards
• Create and revise systems and procedures to increase overall efficiency, as needed.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules daily.
• Works with other supervisors to rotate employees as necessary to meet production needs.
• Assigns employees to specific tasks on the production line, ensures clear understanding of task expectations in quality and productivity
• Maintains the overall safety of employees in the assigned work area; report all hazards/issues.
• Provides corrective action to address attendance, conduct or performance issues with production employees, as needed.
• Assesses individual training needs, including cross-training and job rotation plans.

Skills Needed:

• 2+ years of experience as a line supervisor in a custom manufacturing facility
• Basic computer literacy
• High level of organization is critical
• Ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance; ability to multitask
